Upgrade policy

Act-3D/Lumion releases new versions and updates from time to time. These updates improve the functionality of the software with new features, improvements to existing features or bug-fixes.

Lumion software will alert the End User to the release of any available versions or updates. The alert requires an active internet connection. Installation of a new version or updates is performed only with the End User’s explicit consent. No liability is accepted for damages caused by bugs, if an End User has neglected to install updates in which the bug has been resolved.

Any new version or update may be subject to additional terms and conditions. End Users will be informed in advance if this is the case and End Users will have an opportunity to refuse the installation of a new version or an update. Before installing the new version or update, the End User must accept the additional terms, which are included in the EULA.

Types of updates

Lumion “releases” consist of versions, major updates and minor updates. These are identified with a numbering system. By way of illustration, in the example, “Lumion 12.5.1”, the version number is 12, the major update number is 5 and the minor update number is 1.

Version numbers of Lumion

For perpetual license holders, where the version number is 12 or lower (earlier), it will be necessary to pay for an upgrade to any more recent version of Lumion. If you hold a valid subscription license, then you are entitled to the most recent version of Lumion through your usual subscription payment.

Major updates

Major updates can be issued at any time, completely dependent on the sole discretion of Act-3D/Lumion. Major updates contain significant additional functionality. Customers with an active subscription license have access to all major updates. Customers with a perpetual license have access to major updates for the version of perpetual license that they own but do not have access to major updates for more recent versions.

Minor updates

Minor updates can be issued at any time, completely dependent on the sole discretion of Act-3D/Lumion. Minor updates provide relatively small fixes and/or minor feature additions. Customers with an active subscription license have access to all minor updates. Customers with a perpetual license have access to minor updates for the version of perpetual license that they own but do not have access to minor updates for more recent versions.
